Robotics and Automation Technology Program is designed to place program graduates into positions as managers of technology in industry and government. The program prepares student to be technical generalists so that they can move through a lifelong career prepared to change technical occupations if and when needed. A Bachelor of Science of Robotics and Automation Technology program is accredited by The Association of Technology, Management, and Applied Engineering (ATMAE)
A certification exam is offered to students who pursue this degree:
- ATMAE Certified Technology Manager (CTM)
Certifications provide additional value to program graduates, stating clearly their competencies to prospective employers and graduate school recruiters. The program offers a unique combination of technology, management and engineering content and classes leading towards well rounded modern technology education. The technology accent of the program is on cutting edge technologies in robotics and computer integrated production methods. Our program provides graduates with state of the art knowledge in technology fundamentals, management skills and software and computer skills.
Students acquire practical experience in our robotics, fluid power and flexible industrial production labs where they have a chance to work with modern industrial and scientific equipment. The use of computers and contemporary industrial and measurement software is enabled in virtually every course. For example, during their studies students are provided with their own copies of National Instruments (NI) visual instrumentation software LabView through our Departmental NI License program and they are assisted in acquiring other educational and research tools (like control systems package Vissim, Programmable Logic Controllers software Wintrilog and others).
